I have read 2 chapters of this book today. It is still slow going from me, but I am starting to relate a bit. I am starting to see why the person who recommended it to me did so. The children in the book are fearful of their father and talk of the time he is home as "weeks full of Saturdays". I can understand this "collective sigh of relief" felt by the family when the father is absent from the home and they are all more able to be themselves and relax. I am starting to get excited to see where the book is going. I am only about 100 pages into it. I'll keep you updated.
I've watched 1 1/2 episodes of this hilarious show today. I've seen all the episodes before millions of times thanks to syndication, yet, I never grow tired of trying to catch it in reruns in order. Sometimes you see things you forgot about, remember story lines a different way the second time. Not to mention I just love this show. Watching it..who doesnt want to be friends with those characters?
I will finish (I hope) season 3 on Showtime On Demand today. I absolutely love this show. It is hilarious in its "realness". The characters are charming, multi dimensional...and the 30 minute episodes feel much longer to me. I love the way a story line can skip a few episodes and then come back right when its impact will be felt the most...a lot closer to real life than some shows. I am, however, kind of dissapointed in the sharp turn the show took from season 2 to season 3 so far...maybe I will be surprised though and it will come full circle the way I was describing the story lines often do. Update in several hours when I have reached the conclusion.
